Enjoying the sunshine.

At the moment I am determined that we will enjoy the sunshine while most kids are still in school. Once the school holidays start we will be stying at home, having friends round or visiting friends but as far as possible avoiding the busyness of out and about. So today we had a picnic on the common then went to the Sealife Centre.

Oscar played some games on the computers.

He was really pleased to see this turtle was awake as he usually seems to be sleeping when we visit.

After looking round the aquarium we spent some time in their play area where Oscar enjoyed playing in the sand.

Oscar also got to road test his new lean mean scooting machine.

Legoland

On Saturday we went to Legoland with some friends. Oscar had a wonderful time and we hope to go back again in the future.

The model village was amazing.

Oscar really enjoyed watching the Pirate Show.

We also watched a Bob the Builder film in 4D then Oscar got to meet Bob.
Thank you to Mark and Jenny for a wonderful day x

Dancing on bikes

On Friday I took Oscar into the town centre where we watched a performance by Kompany Malakhi called rotations. It was the first time Oscar had seen anything like this and he really enjoyed it.

A quiet day at home.

On Thursday the heat was starting to get to both of us a bit so Oscar and I spent a quiet day at home. Oscar spent the morning practicing his writing on his scribble and write, then he had a go on paper. I'm am really proud of how well he did writing the alphabet, he gets so frustrated with writing but he was determined to make a real effort today and his writing has definitely come on.

In the afternoon Oscar and I read some Social Stories. These are really helping Oscar to understand his emotions and those of others.

Home Ed Group

On Wednesday we went to our Home Ed Group and the children continued their solar system project. This week they learnt about the moon and space travel. they started the session flying paper planes so they could see just how tricky it is to defy gravity.

Then they learnt about the different types of space travel.

They all coloured in the next page of their Solar System book.

And finally they watched some footage of the lunar landings.

Then we raced home in time for Oscar to watch the football.

Oscar is really enjoying the space project and comes home every week with lots of questions for his Dad.

The Sun has got his hat on......

Well first up today was a trip to Portsmouth Natural History Museum, where Oscar got to see this butterfly just out of it's chrysalis but not quite ready to fly yet.

There were lots of fossils,

some fish,

a solar system display, Oscar stopped and read all the information about the planets!

There's an activity room where Oscar did this butterfly jigsaw

and had lots of fun looking at things through the microscope.

We also  looked at displays of wildlife that can been found in our local area.

Then we walked round the corner to The Model Village where Oscar had a great time playing giants.

Enjoying the view from a model of Southsea Castle.

Ratty, Toad, Badger and Mole.

A model of Portsmouth Guildhall and the Spinnaker Tower.

Then just before we left Oscar spotted Percy hiding in a tunnel.

Then we met some friends, had a picnic lunch and went crabbing.

We used ham as bait but the seagulls also liked the look of it.

The children were really excited when they caught these crabs and fish.

We got very hot so released the crabs and went over to the water play area.

Oscar and Hannah definitely had a good time here.

Then it was time for an ice cream and a bit of tree climbing.

Finally we headed round to a friend's house to play in their splash pool.

What a great day.
